Creating HTML forms

Start tag/End tag:- required/required
There are various form elements available like text fields, textarea fields, drop-down menus, radio buttons, checkboxes, etc.

The HTML <form> tag is used to create an HTML form and it has following syntax:

<form action="Script URL" method="GET|POST">
form elements like input, textarea etc.
</form>
Attributes Description
Accept Specifies a comma separated list of content types that a server processing the form correctly.
Autocomplete Set to TRUE (the default) , if you want the browser to automatically complete data in controls like text fields based on what the user has entered before.
DIR Gives the direction of neutral text. Possible values : LTR : left-to-right text or table and RTL:right-to-left text
DISABLED Set to TRUE if the form should be disabled
ENCTYPE Sets the Multipurpose Internet Mail Extension (MIME) type used to encode the name/value pairs when sent to the action URL. The default is “application/x-www-form-urlencoded”, but you can also use “multipart/form-data”, which is for elements.
METHOD Indicates a method or protocol for sending data to the target action URL.
NAME Gives a name to the form so you can reference it in code.
TITLE Holds additional information (which might be displayed in tool tips )for the element.

MARQUEE Tag

The HTML <marquee> tag is used for scrolling any HTML contents displayed on a webpage either horizontally across or vertically down depending on the settings.
Start tag/end tag :- Both required

Attribute Value Description
behavior scroll/slide/alternate Defines the type of scrolling
bgcolor rgb color value or color name background color of the scrolling area
direction up/down/left/right Defines the direction of scrolling content
height pixels or % Defines the height of the marquee
loop number Specifies how many time to loop. The default value is INFINITE
width pixels or % Defines the width of marquee

Learning BODY Tag

Start tag/End tag : Both required
Properties:-
bgcolor – bgcolor properties is used to set a background color for a webpage
text – text properties is used to set a default text color

Introduction to HTML

HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language, which is the most widely used language on Web to develop web pages.

HTML was created by Berners-Lee in late 1991 but “HTML 2.0” was the first standard HTML specification which was published in 1995. HTML 4.01 was a major version of HTML and it was published in late 1999. Though HTML 4.01 version is widely used but currently we are having HTML-5 version which is an extension to HTML 4.01, and this version was published in 2012.
